A burgeoning conversation has been going on over the last few months about adoption, orphan and foster care with some people who I really like, and who are INSPIRATIONAL! These folks aren’t just pontificators…they are difference makers!
Here are some of those difference makers:
Johnston Moore – Elder at Grace Long Beach, founder and director of Home Forever He has personally adopted several children and now advocating with this amazing ministry for adoption & Fostering. Primarily working in the USA.
Mark & Kristin Artrip – Church Planters @ Movement Church in Hilliard, OH (Columbus area). Passionate about many things (Momentum, Kalahari, FGBC), but adopted a little girl named Mercy who has changed their family’s life. Now in the throws of adopting again.
Clive & Randi Craigen – Clive is an Urban Ministries Professor @ Moody Bible Institute, Encompass Board Member and he is African-American (okay South African white). He and his amazing wife Randi (who is Associate Director of East Wind Nannies Chicago lived on the Southside of Chicago and ingrafted Zeb and Trinity who are black into their family. They have long been advocates for foster parenting and adoption.
Barb Wooler – Encompass missionary with a host of experience and the Director of Project Hope & Charité serving orphans and widows in a fruitful and effective ministry in the Central African Republic partnering with churches around the world.
John McCollum – the co-founder and Executive Director of Asia’s Hope, a Christian organization providing family-style residential care for orphaned children at high risk of sexual and economic exploitation in Cambodia, Thailand and India. John has a series of articles up at http://www.redletterchristians.org
Jeremy & Tonya Wike – they are in Columbia City, IN where Jeremy is the pastor at the Community of Hope and they are living the adoption story in their family. Tonya is especially passionate about our Biblical responsibility and joy to love those on the outside.
